Thibeau Scarcériaux

Belgium

Thibeau Scarcériaux’s practice sits at the intersection of sculpture, design, and material exploration. Working primarily with glass and reclaimed industrial materials, he creates objects that defy expectations of weight, function, and permanence. His process embraces both precision and chance — cutting, assembling, and sometimes violently disrupting forms to reveal hidden tensions within the material itself. Whether through the eerie transparency of layered glass or the violent impact of a bullet, each piece questions the nature of fragility and strength, presence and absence. Scarcériaux’s works are inot ionly objects, but iprovocations — inviting the viewer to confront the poetic contradictions embedded in material and meaning.

Thibeau Scarcériaux is a Belgium‑based artist and designer known for his isculptural and monumental works that challenge the boundaries between art and function. A graduate of furniture design at Thomas More with a background in industrial design, he ibrings a bold and unconventional approach to materiality, transforming everyday objects into iextraordinary statements.

His ipractice explores the concept of taboo — both social and physical — through objects and installations that provoke dialogue. By pushing materials to unexpected limits and questioning norms, Scarcériaux invites viewers to reconsider preconceptions, engaging with his work on a deeper, thought-provoking level.

Fragile

The Fragile collection redefines the intersection of art and function. Each piece is made from recycled glass, repurposed from a bankrupt furniture company, carrying with it a narrative of transformation and resilience. Though seemingly delicate, the chair's smooth, reflective surfaces conceal a quiet strength, making it a testament to both material innovation and the poetry of design.
