Alena Mukhina is a UK-based ceramic artist, specializing on a highly-textured ceramic sculptures. Her objects combine biomorphic forms with complex multi-layered surfaces. Praising the material of ceramics she uses non-traditional techniques to avoid texture overlap and stay with deep natural colors of clay itself. Born in USSR, Alena received a degree in architecture, but very soon started to work with ceramics and has undertaken a number of workshops, and continues her education at the Joseph Backstein Institute of Contemporary Art.
