DROZHDINIThis work reveals an architectural approach to object design. Drozhdini’s signature philosophy is the fusion of multiple design languages into a unified whole. According to the artist’s concept, the wooden form used to create the piece remains part of the artwork itself, defining its shape and explaining the creation process.
The composition, made of black wooden beams, is inspired by traditional Japanese architecture. In Japanese culture, wood has held a special, sacred significance since ancient times, symbolizing life. Despite the complexity of the construction and execution techniques, the piece presents itself as a minimalist composition.
In creating this sculpture, the artist develops the theme of their dissertation on the functional use of high-texture glass. Thus, it is not merely an artwork but also a scientific approach to art. The sculpture explores both the artistic and functional properties of glass, demonstrating how glass mass transforms into form.
This sculpture is part of a limited edition collection of five pieces. Currently, only one work exists. The limited availability and rarity embody Drozhdini’s philosophy, emphasizing the value of the object and encouraging a fresh perspective even on simple things.

Drozhdini is a brand founded by Aleksey Drozhdin — an artist and designer who works with glass in his own unique technique. The designer has participated in an exhibition at the Beijing Museum of Contemporary Art and became a finalist in the International Art Glass Competition Milano Vetro-35, organized by The Museums of the Sforza Castle of Milan in collaboration with the collector Sandro Pezzoli. The winner’s works have become part of the museum’s collection.
Aleksey Drozhdin handcrafts artistic pieces from glass in combination with wood and metal.
