LOW SEAT
Benni AllanPrice upon request
Low Collection by Benni Allan transforms the simple act of sitting into a contemplative ritual, where furniture becomes sculpture and sculpture becomes place. Carved from solid oak, each piece reveals the raw depth and rhythm of the material, balancing bold, geometric cuts with soft, flowing curves. Inspired by traditions of Japan, China, and southern Spain, the collection invites us to pause low to the ground, to connect with space and body in a new way — finding beauty in stillness, weight, and form.

From collection
Low Collection is a series of collectible furniture pieces designed by Benni Allan as an exploration of rest, posture, and the physical relationship between the body and the object. Inspired by traditions of low sitting found across Japan, China, and southern Spain, the collection reflects alternative ways of inhabiting space beyond the conventions of Western furniture design.
Positioned between sculpture and function, each piece intentionally resists a strictly prescribed use. Instead, the collection encourages new forms of interaction, inviting users to reconsider familiar gestures, positions, and rituals of everyday life.
Crafted from solid oak and produced in limited editions, the collection reveals the raw depth and rhythm of the material itself. Advanced CNC milling technologies are combined with traditional hand-finishing techniques to create forms that balance bold geometric cuts with soft, flowing curves. Exposed end-grain surfaces celebrate the natural structure of the wood, highlighting its texture, character, and enduring presence.
Through Low Collection, Allan expresses his ongoing interest in the intersection of architecture, craftsmanship, and emotional experience - creating objects that are both physically grounded and quietly contemplative.

Benni Allan is an architect and designer, the founder of the London-based studio EBBA, a practice working across architecture, interiors, and collectible design.
Born in Spain and educated at the Bartlett School of Architecture in London, Allan was named a British Design Council One to Watch and later received the RIBA Journal Rising Stars Award.
Allan’s work is rooted in the idea of “quietly progressive” design — architecture and objects that are deeply connected to human experience. This approach embraces experimentation and collaboration, seeking to uncover unique spatial and tactile qualities of the objects.
His creative language was shaped through years spent living and working in China, travels throughout Japan, and the cultural traditions of southern Spain. Combining modern manufacturing with traditional craftsmanship, Allan employs CNC milling for structural precision, complemented by meticulous hand-finishing that lends each piece a sculptural presence. His material palette — solid oak, concrete, and other raw, honest substances — is chosen for its poetic integrity and capacity to evoke emotion through texture and form.
